Dancing: Expression Through Non-Verbal Communication
To those who know me very well, they know that I absolutely love to boogie. It may even be an addiction. I am Filipino and music is represented in my culture, especially through movement. I use dance as a way to lighten the mood, shake any emotion away and of coarse, to stay active. It is a way to express emotion without verbal communication. And when I say that I love to dance, I mean that I love to dance anywhere. I take a variety of classes at my local gym, such as, Zumba, contemporary, hip-hop, etc. Sometimes I'll hear a song play in the grocery store and I'll casually bop while no one is watching. In the article below, various dancers state why they dance. Reading all of the positive reasons as to why these dancers dance brings me so much joy.

I can definitely relate to your connection to dance, from a personal and cultural point of view. Dance is the language of movement, as a form of non-verbal expression, it can be cultivated on the aesthetic level and become an art. Dance allows for freedom of self expression and can express feelings and emotions, conveying a message. One of my favorite non-verbal ways to communicate. Great post.
